I can find a lot of people willing to swap my 3080fe for their 6900xt.

I heard that in a few months AMD is gonna come out with their DLSS alternative and their software is pretty good. I don't really care about RTX.

I looked at some 1440p preformance and the 2 cards are almost equal. Why do people say AMD is going to age better due to the higher vram when all 1440p games don't use more than 8gigs?

But I can swap up from a 700 msrp to a 1000 msrp card. I'm kind of conflicted.

The 6900xt has a little better rasterized performance on average than the rtx. The rtx has better ray tracing performance but then again ray tracing as of now really hasn't done much or has been a WOW thing or even noticeable when you are actually playing a game.

We haven't seen amds dlss answer in action so yeah you cannot know how it will be before it is tested.

The higher vram is nice and it will probably matter as indeed the 3080 shipped with not a lot of vram for it's price. A bit of a analysis of the past does favor amd here as texture resolution usually is a very light performance impact but does need a lot of vram and nvidia cards of the same gen used to have less vram and did end up being the worst card after years had passed.
