Upgrading. Should i do this?

Ok so i have a 2600x in my system right now and im thinking about upgrading it to a 5600x and giving the old one to my father to use at work (light office programs and a bit of browsing, nothing special) while also pairing it with like a gt 1030 (the passive cooled msi one is in stock here for around 90 euros). He is upgrading from a 2013 iMac running windows with parallels so it should be a noticeable difference right? Any other reccomendations?
