So, in the past, I've used a fair amount of Logitech membrane keyboards. However, as classes went online and I was at my keyboard a solid 12+ hours per day, the comfort just wasn't there. About 6 months ago, I tried a rather price Razer keyboard, but it failed within hours of use. Right now, I'm using a Corsair K55, which is comfortable, but has a real issue with keys sticking. I don't really game at high refresh rates, but type text, equations, and code practically all the time. Comfort is a must, as is the numpad. I was hoping I could get some recommendations for comfortable keyboards that won't spazz out or fail easily?

I don't think it's something you can really ask and get a good answer for. People are going to suggest things that are comfortable to them, and it might not at all be comfortable for you. Also, do you mean keyboard layout, or keyboard switches? Both are incredibly personal, and with switches in particular, unless you have some hands on, you won't have any idea what you like and no amount of reading is going to help you. You'd need to get a switch tester at the very least.

We need a list of a few things

  • Budget and country <- under $200 USD, Midwestern U.S.
  • Switch preference (tactile, clicky, linear) <- No idea; I've mainly used membrane keyboards. I type in short bursts, so nothing that requires massive amounts of actuation force. I just don't want the switches to stick and create thissssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
  • Does comfort mean wrist pad for you? <- I'd be willing to forgo them if we're talking low-profile keys, but definitely in favor of wrist pads.
  • RGB or any color theme/accent <- Backlit or RGB would be great for working in the dark, but not necessarily a must-have.
