should i just get a new case and yoink the specs from my pre-built and laptop and put it in the new case?

What?We need more specifications.

And laptop parts arent compatible with desktop, not only that buy taking a laptop out of the case is hard and could probably break your laptop, even so its going to be hard to get it working.

From how it looks, it looks like it uses a custom board and external PSU. You gonna need new PSU and motherboard if thats the case (or possibly only PSU, knowing asus prebuilts theyre usually standard asus boards), but its hard to be sure until you open it up and see how it looks.

Tl;Dr: It probably wont but we never know until we tear it apart. The 2 most likely part youll need to get new is the power supply and the motherboard.
