compact video tripods

To be very honest about 8 months ago I went in the store thinking I knew what was good (I Didn't know much because I had just come from a gopro) and what was bad and I asked for a fluid head tripod. The guy said yea this is a fluid head and he gave me a ball head photography tripod ;-;. It can only support 1.5kg and Whenever im looking for a lens, or a monitor I am always limited by the weight. You know whats even worse? it was 122$ US Here is the tripod I gotJOBY EverPod Flow Compact Tripod with Joystick HeadYea its not great for video is it? I asked for a fluid head. But now I am wondering what if I got another tripod like a fluid head and not be ripped off this time : (

is it to early to upgrade though? and if there is any options please tell me (150 USD)

When you say fluid head do you mean majestic head? It’s an older term.  Fluid head used to be about smooth panning, whereas ball head used to be about quick movement and resets. There were fluid ball heads that did both.  They were famous for being very weight limited though.  You could get ball heads that heals a lot, but their clamping systems were ferocious.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

I said fluid head for smooth pans. He said "Yeah, (looks at the box) This is a fluid head" I was excited. and I unboxed it to find out that it wasn't, mustn't of been a videography guy.

Hi, All I need to tell you is I dont want it much longer than 16 inches long when its closed down for transporting, I do want a nice fluid head. 200 usd is the much much much upper limit of my budget and I want it to grow with me unlike the tripod I have had for 6 months ;-;

(Joke) Im with nerd --->

I use a Velbon DV-7000N (something like that). Its very sturdy, durable and not too heavy. With fluid head so great pans and tilts. And quick release plate for ease.

Yea but. will it fit on the side of my backpack (Lowerpro aw 250 ii) You need a pretty small tripod to go on there.

Edit: Magnus vt300 good?

Small tripods are flimsy, and tripods that aren’t flimsy are usually neither small nor cheap 😕

I don’t think there is a fine art that exists that doesn’t have that problem (watch someone bring up rock balancing or something)

Fine. Used peak design carbon fiber tripod. slap on a fluid head

Edit: I dont need weight capacity I would rather have 3kg max and a good small size and a decent fluid head for 400$ cause I know it will be the last tripod ill ever need for traveling.

I'd go for better legs as heads get replaced more often.
