constant high disk usage from "System"

BahnStormer

I am seeing constant 300-400Mb/sec disk IO - over an hour after reboot and it is still going.

I thought it was some sort of Dropbox/OneDrive integrity check, but there's no NIC activity and it's still going.

System spec in signature. Win10 Pro 64bit, all latest drivers and patches.

My workstation/gamer: Ryzen9 5900X@5Ghz, AC Freezer2 280mm AIO, ASUS TUF X570PRO, RTX3080Ti FE, 32Gb TridentZ DDR4-3600C14, M.2 1Tb WDSN850, M.2 1Tb WDSN550, 2x 8Tb WD80EFAX, Corsair HX850, LianLi O11 Air Mini + 3x NF-A14's, Gigabyte M27Q (27"/1440P/170Hz), Asus PA248 (24"/1200P/60Hz), Dell WFP2408 (24"/1200P/60Hz), G815 kbd, G502 mouse, Sony WH-H910N, ModMic Wireless.

okay - that was one of those problems where I've been mulling it over for the last 2hrs.... but just the act of typing it out made be go through the list of things it could be.

My 2x 8Tb spindle drives (RAID1) are re-synchronising... 100%, that's the cause. Explains why it's only 400Mb/sec too!
