"5.1" sound setup not working on macOS Big Sur

I'm in the final stages of setting up my Big Sur Hackintosh, and I have two things left to do.

1. Get iServices working

2. Get my sound setup working

If all goes well, #1 will be done. I just need to restart to test it.

#2, though...

I do have sound. That's not a problem, which is good.

The problem is that I can't set up my "5.1" (it's 5.1 minus the center speakers, so I say 4.1) sound set up.

The way you're supposed to set up surround sound is with Audio MIDI Setup. If all of your devices are there, you'll create an Aggregate Device, select the devices you want, and set them up depending on how many you have.

However, when I tried this it has some problems.

If I set it to:
Left - 1

Right - 2

Center - 4 (nonexistent)

Subwoofer - 3

Left surround - 5

Right surround - 6

I get glitchy audio (lots of hissing) and no volume control.

I did a bit of Googling to see if there was a way to find which channels corresponded to which sound stream (so I could set my subwoofer to the correct channel) but no luck.

Does anyone have any ideas what could be wrong?
