Wifi issues.

Eric Kazer

Hi,

My Asus K517LI-PB71 is fairly new. I noticed that after a few hours of being left on idle, that the WIFI would drop out. Troubleshoot Problems would bring it back and then it would drop with higher frequency. The included WIFI card is a Intel AX201NGW.

I swapped in my Qualcomm Atheros QCA61x4A from my Lenovo laptop. That works. Doesn't drop out.

Who thinks that the card is faulty, and can Intel warranty it. Intel card only works with10th gen or later CPUs. Troubleshooting Intel card in the Lenovo won't work because the card won't show up.

As in this is the WiFi adapter that was supplied with the laptop from Asus out of the box?

The AX201 is a variant of the AX200, which both support WiFi 6, but the AX201 relies on CPU/Intel-specific technology to work properly.
