Ok, so, i dont know very much about PC’s, and i might sound stupid for asking this. So  I currently have 16 gigs of ram in my system. About 3200 mhz. I am soon to be getting 64 gigs of ram (for free through a friend) at around 3600 mhz. Not the same brand, but they are both DDR4. Will this cause compatibility issues? Do they have to be the same?

Yes it will cause compatibility issues. If you're getting 64 gigs of faster ram, you might as well just use that.

They will still work together, but you'd have better performance just using the 64gb at 3600mhz. what is your system, current ram, and ram youre getting

Possibly. Mixing different types of RAM can cause issues, even if they are the same speed.

Ok, would the 64 gigs at 3600 mhz still be faster even if i could mix the 2? And is there a website that can possible to outline if there would be compatibility issues?

The ram wouldnt run at 3600mhz if ur other was at 3200.

please, tell us what ram kit you currently have (brand and model) and what kit you are getting (brand and model)

Yes, the 3600mhz ram will be faster. (If it was by itself)  I'm not sure if there's a website for that as errors can be different with each use case.

Check the die version of each ram, which can be done with thaiphoon burner. You might also want to run them at the same frequency

yes 3600 by itself. also depends on your build if more sticks matter at all.

else only use them, if they are good and healthy ram sticks.

mixing them wouldn't be so great when capacity and speed is different while having to run at the lowest compatible speed.

if it will boot at all with them mixed.
