Need help with my Excel problem

So I'm in hr sourcing and I deal with a lot of applicant and employee information, that includes consolidating, analyzing and reporting. My problem is when I'm dealing with around 30mb or more excel files, for example, when use Kutools to search for duplicates it take so long. I really don't have a problem with that, but when I go to task bar, I never see cpu utilization past 30% usage. Is there away to increase the pc utilization of an application like excel?

Open Task Manager, find Excel in apps, right click it, then set its priority to High. This will allocate more of the computers resources to Excel.

That is not how that works. This really only would help in situations where the CPU is nearly 100% loaded and you need to schedule more CPU time for a certain thread. When not loaded, most computers don't need to be told how to prioritize tasks.

I already increased it to high before and it did not worked. As for multi-threading, I only got 8th gen i5 8400, so 6 core without hyperthread. I'm already looking at getting a new cpu last yr but got screwed with the waiting game, shortage and pricing debacle. I mean, I can literally can play aaa games like AC odyssey or FF15 while waiting for the excel to complete it's processing. I don't even know if upgrade to a better cpu would significantly increase the speed, I guess 30% utilization of an ryzen 7 or i7 is faster than 30% of my i5. Just hoping that there's a way to increase that utilization to like 60% maybe lol

This is more about Excel itself not being meant for stuff you are using it for. Sounds like you are trying to use it for something where database would be more beneficial instead of going with several tabs of sheets.

Excel just craps itself when amount of columns and rows gets really big.

Got it. Database is really something I would love to have. But sadly, I don't know anything about setting it up and even if I do, I don't have the access/authority to set it up. I'm basically stuck with microsoft 365 and sharepoint, which is what our company has.
