Is AMD making this on purpose ? Compatibility issues ?

Well where do I begin ?

My MOBO died week ago,

It was a MSI B450M Mortar paired with a budget Ryzen 3 2200G at the time (-/+ 3 years ago ? )

Power section of the Motherboard died, and I couldn't get it to even flinch (shorting power pins wasn't working) and I tested CPU and everything on a friends A320, worked fine.

 

So i told myself okay, fine. 

> "It's time for an upgrade"

Ended up buying MSI MAG B550 and R5 3600.

Got the package today.

And got curious. Just yolo'ed the 2200G which to be honest I didn't know it was still a Zen (besides almost every 2nd and 3rd gen being Zen+)

 

And it worked. I was stunned, like Linuses "Whaaaat?!" -you get the image

 

First of all neither Zen or Zen+ are supported on B550 ... Moreso the motherboard had written on it's box that it is incompatible with the newer APUs (mentioning 3200G and 3400G)

And surprisingly both output works ( Vega and my GTX 1060) 

 

Now when that's said ... *I'm just curious if it's AMD just trucking with stuff "making it incompatible" on purpose ?* Will it be stable ? The only reason I bought a new CPU is because the mobo was supposed to not support my old one.

I'm also asking only because I'm low on cash and I didn't want to spend money on a 3600 yet, you know maybe get some more and buy a Ryzen 7 ... :V

Last topic I run out of battery juice on my phone and it shutdown unexpectedly. ( And somehow still had send it )

Also why would it work on a 2200G but not work guaranteed on 3200G and 3400G ? They should be more likely to get the unofficial support
