Hi Gen. Shepard,

Lets Start off with a general sanity check, i take it you have checked to make sure your taskbar is locked so it will not be moving, and that you have also checked the settings on your desktop menus regarding icons and everything is set up to allow you to put icons anywhere you want?

If all of the above is completed, and you are able to move your icons everywhere else except there, this then starts to look like some kind of registry problem, unless anyone else here has another idea i didnt think to check?

i did, and there are 2 options with that, or the botom icon is merged into the top of the taskbar or there still bar where i can't put anything that is half the size of the one in the image

Hmm, I know with mine set how it is I lose the name under the icon off the bottom of the screen (I have my taskbar on the side, I find that easier with multiple screens) so I just move everything up a row. I need to play around with the spacing again, it was perfect before I changed my display setup, which also messed up all my icons which I'd organised perfectly >.<

If you change the size and the spacing can you get it any closer than half that gap? You've probably tried already, but it's the only other thing I can think of.

Also, I like your background, did you take that?

Damn...

Ok I only have one more idea, is your screen set to/is a non-standard resolution?

Bingo, that might be it. I just tried moving mine to my main monitor and it solves the gap at the bottom for me too.

I have a 24" 1920x1200 in the middle and a 1280x1024 19" on each side. With the icons on the 19"s there is a gap, but on the 24" the spacing is perfect.

Before I got the 24" monitor was when everything was perfect for me, since I added that was when I got the gap.

Are your screens different resolutions?

yes, my primary monitor has a resolution of 1920x1080 and my second monitor has a resolution of 1680x1050. i don't get it because i have this setup for over a year now and never had any problems.

I'm not sure why it does it then, but we both changed something which caused it to happen.

I added a screen, and you reinstalled your OS.

Obviously it's something to do with running different resolutions, as for how to fix it I have no idea if the things you tried didn't work. I'll have a muck around with it tomorrow on my PC and if I have any luck I'll let you know here

Makes sense, considering the problem started for me when I plugged in my new monitor.

I'm off now though, if you work it out a fix for it before I get a chance to have a play around with it let me know!

Goodluck :)
