Thinking about home security system

Not sure I'd this is the correct thread for this, please let me know if it isn't.

 

My mother is gonna be moving in a couple of months, and I would like to put in a home security system at the new house, the house is being renovated atm..

 

Just wondering are there wireless cameras that could record the footage to a Nas of my choosing? Or would I need to run wires, sorry if this seems vague.

 

Any suggestions for systems would also be appreciated.
