So I have finally decided that I’m going to do my own build but I can’t decide on if I want intel or amd cpu. Any thoughts on what one is better for gaming and possibly streaming in the future?

Well, both amd and intel are good brands, in my country the 11th generation of intel is cheaper than the amd, but for streaming, id go with a i5-11600KF cuz it has PCIE 4th gen support and had 3.9ghz 6-core, its price is around 220$ i think (please dont forget u have to buy discrete graphics then, if you dont want to u can buy i5-11600K wjich has UHD750)

The cpu itself is a good and fast cpu which has the 1200 socket of intel. It has 12 threads.

U can also buy an i7 if u want which has 8 cores, causing to do even more tasks at the same time without losing performance.

Also, if its your first build i do not recommend watercooling, if 1 pipe breaks it can screw up your whole pc and break it, and a normal cooler is good enough, and my i5 is only at 35 degrees when normal computing and at 60 degrees when gaming, important points:

1) it draws much more power than amd

2) the igpu is powerfull

3) it has turbo boost to 4.9ghz

4) its overclockable and unlocked

So id go with the i5, but thats of course your decision, im just giving some advice 🙂

Succes with building your first pc!

At the moment, Intel would be a better choice. I5 10400 would be solid.

Outside of budget builds, the AMD 5600x, and even more so the 5900x are the best gaming/streaming CPUs, but those require a dedicated GPU(which is practically imposible to find for anywhere close to reasonable prices) in contrast to Intel and are hard to come by for a reasonable prize in most places(though are available where I live at MSRP for some reason?). It all depends on what's available, and if you want to build now or in half a year will change a lot of factors. Intel is easy to get at, or under, MSRP, so if you don't find AMD for a reasonable price, intel is the only way to go.

Well I’m buying parts one as they become available and two when they are at a reasonable price so if I have to wait a year before I have all the parts I’m not to worried just figuring out what exactly I want

Thanks for the advice but what do you mean by discrete graphics?

by discrete garphics i mean, a grpahics card you intall inside of a PCIE slot, if u dont want to buy an expensive card immidiately, you can start with a cheap one, there are pros and cons about it tho

on integrated graphics (graphics in the processor)

pros:

1) cheaper

2) more power efficient

3) no need for better power supply

cons:

1) its weaker

2) its uses your physical memory

3) it takes the performance of the cpu away.

on discrete/dedicted card (the graphics card in the PCIE slot)

pros:

1) its sometimes more powerfull than intel graphics (depending which card you pick do NOT buy gt710...)

2) it uses its own memory

3) it renders more stable

4) its overclockable

cons:

1) it uses more power

2) it is more expensive

now if u are going to pay for a good graphics card immidiately, go for it! itl be better. if not, id go with intel uhd 750, and save for a graphics card, uhd 750 performs okay but dont expect too much from it 😉 .

i wish you good luck building your pc!

ps: if you go with intel uhd 750 u will need 16gb of ram, cuz else it will slow your pc a bit down.
