What else can I overclock?

I overclocked my

1) CPU

8600k --> 4.8ghz @1.4v (delidded) avx 0// don't ask my CPU is a dud.

2) GPU

Gigabyte 1080 ---> 2ghz

3) Ram

gskill 3600 cas 17 ---> 4000 cas 17

 

I tried overclocking my monitor but my monitor does not accept higher refresh rates.

It's possible to OC the USB ports for a higher polling rate. 

It's also possible to OC some SSD drives but I wouldn't really mess with that as you risk data corruption if it goes wrong.

You can OC the Cpu cache. That should net some increased performance. May require additional v-core however.

Thanx man. I matched the cpu cache to oc speed. I squeezed in a bit more power. Very helpful!

Nice. Cache on most chips tops out around 5ghz and at 5.2ghz want to be chilling or break the cpu. 4.8ghz is fine if the extra v-core is small or none needed.

shoot. instability. OCCT crashed in 15min. its either the ram or the cache. Here is the funny part though. My OC memory passed the memory overclock test but failed the OCCT cpu stress test...what the hell. 

 

So right now, I am unsure what caused the instability.

1) is it the CPU cache

2) is it the ram

3) is it both?

Or high temps... Ram or cpu. 

In theory, the more you OC, the lower you should run the temps for stability. That does include the memory modules and memory controller (cpu temps)

I got the ram stable but cache is still a no go even at 0.2v increase

Try 300mhz less than the Cpu OC. 4.5ghz to 4.6ghz at the same v-core. I think it defaults to 4.3ghz if I'm not mistaken. (maybe lower)

I lowered the CPU OC by 100mhz. And I was able to set the CPU cache to 47. It is now 4.7/4.7 @avx 0. It is stable.

 

So what do you think it better?

4.8/ auto cache  vs 4.7/4.7 cache (both same voltage by the way)

Nvm. I got it stable at 4.8 cpu and 4.7 cache. Unfortunately, cant do 1:1
