The other day when I was cleaning my laptop's fan, I noticed an empty slot on my motherboard. It had 'KB' written just above it. Got to know, that it's, "Keyboard Backlight". So could I in some way, just get a few LEDs and probably make my normal keyboard into a backlit keyboard?

"An empty slot" doesn't tell us enough details, so it's not really possible to say much. You'd need to figure out whether the pins just simply provide power and, if so, at what voltage, or if it's a USB - port or if it carries e.g. an I2C - signal.
