Hello to the community! So I just started teaching computers and video production at my kids school to pay for their tuition as my video production company took a large hit last year.  upon coming into the computer lab I noticed that I stepped back in time to 2011 as the desktops were Dell Vostro 230s running windows 10 and my computer being an HP Envy with a GTX 745. I instantly upgraded the systems with SSDs and maxed out their ram as they were crashing with edge or chrome open.
The problem though is that it is difficult to teach animation, photo and video editing to the kids these machines cannot even fathom modern software. I was going to build new computers however the current state of parts dictate otherwise. Getting a GPU is near impossible let alone 13 of them. So prebuild it is.  The directors at the school are not sure how much to spend on the computers so I am making a list of computers that I can get best bang for buck. Ideally I would like to stay around $1500 a PC as I can get at least half the room replaced. So I started my shopping with Build redux, Dell, NZXT, Maingear, and ibuypower.

I will say that for the most part I have a decent selection however Dell set themselves apart with their $1000 build with the noteworthy parts being an intel 10500, Quadro P1000 and a 200 watt PSU. the quadro is also the highest GPU they will put in the system. The first quote was for $900 with a GT 730.  I know from the mystery shopper episodes how customer service is with most of the system builders but I would love to hear your experience.

I wouldn't buy dells for a school if they were free.

Like , I do a lot of half assed things to get by , but I don't think I could ever do something like that to a place of learning. It could be a very twisted learning experience though if you want to show what happens when you trade cost for quality. Though it would be more for the adults than the kids.

Your first sentence made me laugh really hard. I had a feeling that Dell would not be great but I did not expect the quote and build sheet I got back from them.
