Need opinion!

Hey,

 

Recently bought new parts for a new system. Unfortunately the corsair hx 850 i purchased has awful coil whine. Sure it's safe to use but the noise is actually terrible and wish to have it replaced. However, I think I will go for a diferent model. I heard the RMX is a good psu, do I really need 850? Should I get the rmx 750 corsair psu?

 

I am inpatient. I will order a new psu now and send the other one back for a refund because it was purchased within 30 days.

thanks. the one i linked is a good model to pick right? sure my chances of getting coil whine can be the same but i feel like i want to go for a more popular model because it seems like a lot of people have coil whine with the hx 850 i bought.

Corsair RMX is a good one, i don't know about the coil whine tbh.

The one i use, Antec NeoEco Gold doesn't have it.

coil whine is quite random, from my experience

my friend's PC would whine at his house but not at mine

i suspect it might have something to do with dirty wall power?

 

his was an corsair RM550 or something

but his Leadex Gold II also whined

dirty wall power? my last 3 computers with different psu's have been fine over the space of 10 years
