Hi everybody,

I'm new to PC building, almost finished my first setup today before encountering a big problem.

My specs are

Motherboard: MSI MAG B550M Bazooka

CPU: Ryzen 3600x

GPU: GT220(decided to put an old one in for a week or so before getting a proper one)

SSD: WDS500G2B0C

PSU: Gigabyte P650B 80 Plus Bronze

RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3200MHz C16

So I got everything together and put in the USB flash drive with the installer in it. At first, it'd randomly crash within the first few seconds of running while the installer wanted me to select the language and stuff, and then when it finally had gone through the initial setup where the first reboot is supposed to happen for me to install, it just crashes and gives an error: 0xc0000098

My personal theory is that it's because of the older GPU and the fact that it [I guess, runs on?] CSM and not UEFI. However, the bios said that it was running on CSM itself as well.

I did almost everything in my power--- I tried reinstalling the installer; I tried wiping the ssd and then reinstalling it; tried changing the boot drive preference(couldn't figure it out completely though) and nothing. If anyone could help me, I'd be really grateful--- I don't want to ruin this $1000+ machine.

Looks to me like you're over-complicating a Windows install... or the build isn't put together correctly.

By default, Windows install uses the most basic of drivers to get Windows installed at all - go back into the BIOS and 'Load fail-safe default' settings & let Windows do the rest; when you get to the first Reboot, remove the USB drive & let the machine do the rest.

The only other thing I can think of is that you didn't use the Media Creation Tool correctly & may have selected the defaults for the machine you downloaded it on, as a basis for the new machine.

**I frequently edit any posts you may quote; please check for anything I 'may' have amended.**

Current PC spec. in my profile.
Can I realistically call myself a gamer, if I only play ONE, twenty year old game...?

Did you test boot it, before you built in into the case?

WHY NOT...?!
