That is as it should be.

Hopefully this is the right forum to post under. Maybe I'm worried for nothing but I'd rather look dumb and be safe rather than make a big mistake. Is this normal or should there be something where it's just empty?

The empty pin on the motherboard 24 pin connector was for -5v which is no longer used by modern computers.
