I am upgrading from a gt 1030 to a gtx 1650. As you probably know, it works fine with my MOBO but do I need to do anything before/after installing the new gpu? Like the drivers or anything? I can't play alot of games because the gt 1030 only has directx12 and Valorant and Rocket League doesn't work either. Do i need to re-intall them?

Drivers SHOULD be OK, but it's never a bad thing to DDU the one you have & reinstall the latest version.

Can I realistically call myself a gamer, if I only play ONE, twenty year old game...?

Did you test boot it, before you built in into the case?

WHY NOT...?!

Sorry if this is stupid but what is DDU?

Oops;  Display Driver Uninstaller - it's a tool (app?) to remove display drivers (ideally in safe mode) to help correct issues, primarily, but it can also minimise any chances of  corruption caused by changing your card; whether to a different manufacturer or even a better one of the same make.

Find & download the absolutely latest nVidia driver from their site.

Search "DDU" & download & install it.
Reboot your system into Safe Mode & run DDU.

Uninstall ALL makes of driver with nVidia last, but do NOT restart your PC until after running for nVidia.

Restart your system & install the driver you downloaded.

Enjoy your new card...
