Hello! I recently bought this controller board https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N5J57YP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 for the b116xtn04 touch screen laptop display. It works fine however I am unable to use the touchscreen feature of this display. Does anyone know what I will need to do in order to use the touch screen feature? Feel free to ask any question and I will answer them to the best of my ability Thanks!

Side note:
I got this screen from my old Dell Inspiron 3137

From what I can tell it's not a very elegant process. Usually the touchscreen capability is just a digitizer that's attached to the motherboard in some way. Do you know if it's still on your display?

Yes I do. Would I be able to connect that into the controller board? Thanks!

Most controller boards don't have that ability, since that's typically not the job of the LCD. You'll have to find another controller that accepts the digitizer, although I'm pretty sure there aren't any, since it's probably Dell proprietary compared to the likely wholesale LG LCD. You'll want to get a LCD that is designed to give away it's touch input if you want to do it in any elegant way, although you can try making your own digitizer with USB controller (not an easy feat at all and wouldn't work very well anyways), or try using devices that are designed to turn laptop screens into USB touchscreens.

Ah I see. Thank you! Would you be willing to send me few devices that are meant for that? I would be willing to try to make a digitizer USB controller but if it doesn't work well I would use that as a last resort.

Would something similar to this work? https://www.amazon.com/4-Wire-Resistive-Controller-Screen-Driver/dp/B07MXF1JN3/ref=pd_sbs_1?pd_rd_w=hu0kp&pf_rd_p=651d64d1-3c73-45b6-ae09-e545600e3a22&pf_rd_r=E1CTNVAVTX0DKHDCB3TZ&pd_rd_r=f694baf7-793a-42af-b223-69d23dc4c709&pd_rd_wg=VyGWB&pd_rd_i=B07MXF1JN3&psc=1

Small update,
I did some looking around and found these two items https://www.adafruit.com/product/1580 and https://www.adafruit.com/product/3305. They seem like they would be the solution to the issue however I am unsure. Does anyone know if this would resolve my problem?
