Ever since I updated to the newest version of nvidia gfe, the FPS counter doesn’t display in every game and from time to time it shows N/A when not playing (just being in desktop). Has anyone also had these issues? Before the update everything was working perfectly.  Thank you for your answers ^^

Yes, its a bit of a mess right now. I have to toggle it off manually sometimes now when i'm at the desktop or I just get a static "N/A".

Yeah the new update sucks. I really miss the old FPS counter. Currently I have disabled Shadowplay entirely and now use ingame FPS-counters and/or Steams or Origins FPS-counters.

it can also interfere heavily with Afterburner, like one time my gpu was 80C, no fans whatsoever.. . turned off the "performance overlay" and then my Afterburner fan curve  worked again, in other words if i wasn't there paying attention it would have fried my 3070 . .. seems  very halfassed and almost reckless, that's the Nvidia way, i guess.

edit:  also one of them is lying lol...

i dont trust the nvidia overlay at all... in my experience Afterburner is very precise, also comparing with other monitoring software

I have a 30 second workaround. It's annoying but it works everytime. Go into Windows Services and restart the 'NVIDIA Frameview SDK Service' and you will see the N/A change back to the correct frames count instantly. It usually lasts a login, but sometimes I have to restart it several times.

This happens to me often too! The way i made it work was going to  GeForce Experience>settings>General>click and unclick in-game overlay.(Then i would press alt+r to turn it off or back on.  i usually keep enable experimental features unable.. goodluck!
