that warning will appear to literaly whatever board you use with ryzen 5000, just ignore it because it has probably been updated already from manufacturer.

I said what I said because the boards stock bios does not support that cpu....

Yeah I saw that but someone else told me I would just have to update the bios is that a bad thing to do or something that would be hard for someone new to pcs.

Updating is easy but you will need to use a compatible cpu to update it if it's running the stock bios.

I know, but the board has already probably been updated since ryzen 5000 launched around 6 months ago, so it's likely not on it's stock bios anymore. If you are freaked out about bios compability, then you can get a 10700k I guess, but it's really not that much of a problem.

If it doesn't come with a compatible bios (which is unlikely) just RMA the board instead of paying 150 to get a compatible ryzen 3.

I feel stupid asking this but what does it mean to RMA it

Oh so if I do need to update it I would have to use a different cpu than the one I have

yes. the board only functions when a compatible cpu is installed.

it's not unlikely , the board you recieve can be from any time period pulled off of any shelf anywhere , so chances are it has whatever bios it had whenever it was made.

some people dont like rmaing parts

nobody here said to buy a ryzen 3
