ethernet over cable

my smart tv's wifi has been trash for awhile but now its just plain not working

i have existing cables from directv in the house, i know they make boxes to convert from ethernet at the router, send signal through the cables, and then convert back to ethernet in the bedroom where the tv is, i just need to know which ones are actually good

do not suggest powerline to me, the electrical wiring in this place has claimed the lives of 7 powersupplies and 3 motherboards

im gonna pick up a 5 port switch too i think, might as well hardline the desktop and playstation
