Hello,

I am new to the forums and was wondering if anyone could help me with an issue that I am having. When I am downloading a new game or an update for a game, the download speeds seem to peak at 950 K/sec (kilobytes per second), but when I look at my task manager it says that my PC is pulling 6 to 7 Mb/sec (Megabytes per second); so my best guess is that there is something in my PC that is bottlenecking the transfer rate of the download. I have also checked the settings in Steam and Battle.net to make sure that there is no limit to the internet speed that they can use. So my question is: is there a way to improve the download speed of my games since I am pulling more internet than it is using?

-Thank you for any help or suggestions, T

The download is probably measured in kilobytes per second, while task manager measures in megabits. A byte is 8 bits, so 6-7 megabits per second results in just under 1 megabyte per second. What internet bandwidth are you paying for?

It says that my PC is receiving 6-7 Megabytes, and that is what I am paying for.

Task manager reports network bandwidth in Mbps, lower case b means bits, not bytes. If it was megabytes it would be MBps. Network speeds are measured in bits per second, so it looks like you are getting the speeds you pay for.
