Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: All around PC. Mainly gaming, also a bit of photoshop and video editing.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I want to have a strong motherboard, because I plan to do a lot of upgrading to this computer on the future. After this build, step one will be a GPU, but after that I want to get a better CPU.

Motherboard: MSI MPG X570 Gaming Plus

RAM: OLOy WarHawk RGB 2 x 8GB DDR4 3200

PSU: EVGA 650W 80+ Bronze Fully Modular 150mm

Case: Corsair iCUE 220T RGB

OS: Windows 10 Home

Storage: Seagate Barracuda Compute 2TB

I'd suggest downgrading the motherboard, because my the time you will be able to upgrade, Ryzen 6000 will be out and you'll have to swap it out anyway. AMD has all but confirmed that Ryzen 5000 is the last chip on AM4, so when you want to go to upgrade, you'd want to swap out the motherboard anyway.

Change the motherboard to B450 or 550, no need for x570 for that cpu.

You can also search for Ryzen 4350g (4 cores) or 4650g (6 cores) in ebay / aliexpress for better cpu performance.

450w PSU is enough, no need for 650w.

Add a small 256gb SSD for the main drive.
