I am really excited to have my new parts tomorrow. I downloaded all my drivers today and noticed there's a new BIOS that was released on the 8th and it says it's a beta...

Should I update it? The board makes it really easy to update BIOS but I've never done it before and it makes me uneasy. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.... Right?

The BIOS and board in question:

A beta BIOS is a beta BIOS because it's not fully finished yet; do you really wanna take a risk with your mobo's BIOS?

I just didn't know if it was commonplace for these things to always be called "beta" when in reality they're just playing a game of CYA.

No, beta BIOSes are primarily for testers with the means of fixing their stuff, even if the BIOS did brick the board or cause instabilities or such. They are not recommended for the general populace to mess around with.

Ah. Well good. I promise, avoiding a BIOS update is definitely preferred on my end anyways. 🙂
