Graphics card vertical mount?

I have a 980 windforce graphics card that I want to mount vertically. Its like an inch off the bottom of the case right now so theres a lot of dust under it and I'm concerned about the airflow. Will this help it get more airflow?

It'll depend on your case. Probably not, your card will just choke on the side panel instead. 

I am NOT a professional and a lot of the time what I'm saying is based on limited knowledge and experience. I'm going to be incorrect at times.
