Hi!

Seeking recommendations on what motherboard is ideal for a Intel i5 3470 @ 3.20 GHz?

It also must fit a AMD Radeon R9 200 series (2048MB) which im using now.

RAM is 8GB Single Channel DDR3 (9-10-9-26)

Current board is a Gigabyte H61M-DS2.

Im not techy in details about the compatibility between the processor and board.

Thank you in advance to those who would take time sending in their expert advise.

there are lots of choices, sinces its been discontinued for quite some time, Id rather recommend you buying a whole new system with a slightly newer cpu like the i5-4570 or similar in pre built systems.

Reason being, old motherboards arent really worth keeping around, which is why they go for a hefty price depending on your luck.

instead buy a prebuilt hp, dell system for 100$

Hello Haraikomono,

Thank you for taking time and replying to my noob query.

Coincidentally, a friend of mine who's into PC rebuilding offered me to swap his i5-4570S to my i5-3470 just now.

I will observe if its better than my old unit.

Quite frankly, my i5-3470 is running quite well even if all the parts are second hand.

It gets the job done. Browsing, Emails, Watching YouTube is mainly what i use it for.

Thanks again

Got the new PC my friend offered.

Just sharing.

Got the Intel Chip you suggested and slot it in on a MSI Z97 Gaming 3 Mobo he got for a bargain.

Transferred the GPU and everything just works AWESOME!

Thanks for the suggestion and Stay Safe
