Does anyone know of a simple Android app which will send me notifications with content of my choice at a time of my choice? I would like to be able to set the same notification to appear multiple times on a cycle (for example "every Monday at 7PM").

I would use the reminder functionality built into the Google Calendar app, but I don't want to sync this to my Google account. I also don't like the way it persists in the calendar until I go in and manually mark it as "done".

Thanks for reading all this by the way!

By the way, my desktop is a docked laptop. Get over it, No seriously, I have an exterrnal monitor, keyboard, mouse, headset, ethernet and cooling fans all connected. Using it feels no different to a desktop, it works for several hours if the power goes out, and disconnecting just a few cables gives me something I can take on the go. There's enough power for all games I play and it even copes with basic (and some not-so-basic) video editing. Give it a go - you might just love it.

alarm app 😄 srsly, does every thing you mentioned

No it doesn't. It doesn't send a push notification, it makes a thing which takes up my entire screen and makes a noise constantly until I stop it manually. That's not what I want.

You could use separated calendar/reminder app. Something which is only local. I would recommend aCalendar, but as I have paid for it, I don't remember how well its tasks and reminders work in free version. They work as you would like with paid version.
