Budget (including currency): 700ish SGD

Country: Singapore

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: AAA games and may be doing deep/machine learning related stuff in future for my studies - (which I'm not very aware of what I need now)

Other details I am considering not taking the path of overclocking and thinking if investing the money for an AIO into a better processor is a better choice. Locally a 5600x + b550m set costs as much as an 11700f + b560m.

Current main parts are

Intel 7700(non-k)

Z490m

520W psu (regret not getting a higher one)

5700xt

If 11700f costs the same as 5600x which one should I get? Or I'm open to other options below the budget.

11600k or the 5600x both the same cores/threads just clock differences which overclocking is easier with intel but relatively the same process with AMD.

The 11700f is not unlocked so no OC. You'll have to get the K version for that.

CPU is pretty irrelevant for DL, as long as you have a GPU. Even your 7700 is more than enough for that.

FX6300 @ 4.2GHz | Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 R2 | Hyper 212x | 3x 8GB + 1x 4GB @ 1600MHz | Gigabyte 2060 Super | Corsair CX650M | LG 43UK6520PSA
ASUS X550LN | i5 4210u | 12GB

Ah yes my intention was not overclocking actually because I didn't want to have to go through the trouble of getting a new PSU, cooler and spending more on a Z series motherboard. Assuming I'm using everything at stock, would 11600 be still good or 11700/F?

11700f - multitasking, multithread optimized programs

5600x - gaming, single threaded

it depends on what you do and what you care more about

I see thank you, still having trouble accepting the 5600x because it's so expensive now. But if 5600x is still better than 11700f at gaming perhaps I should really take a look at it
