Worth upgrading?

Anything less than a 5900x is hard to justify when you already have an 8700k

Hi,

I'm current thinking about taking the jump and switch from Intel to AMD, but I'm really in doubt if it's really worth. Below are my current spec, my current usage and what I'm think about to change out in my current spec.

Current spec:

  • CPU: Intel Core i7 8700k
  • CPU cooler: Noctua NH-D15 chromax.black
  • Mainboard: ASUS ROG STRIX Z370-F GAMING
  • GPU: ASUS GeForce RTX 3080 ROG Strix OC
  • Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-3200 C16 BK DC - 16GB
  • Storage: 2x Samsung 970 EVO SSD M.2 2280 - 1TB
  • Storage: 3x Samsung 870 EVO 2.5" SSD - 2TB

Usage of current build:
I play alot First-Person-Shooter games like "Call of Duty Black Ops - Cold War", use my computer a little for video editing, but it's mainly used for gaming and when ever working from home.

Current looking into buying this:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X
  • Mainboard: ASUS ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING
  • Extra memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-3200 C16 BK DC - 16GB
    • This end me up having 4x 8GB sticks

Can anyone maybe help me if the investment is worth it?
