Does a 24/7 mc server slow down internet?

I want to run a server on my dad's little computer because it's on 24/7 so I can have a server up and still shut down my pc. Would this create lag if I were to play other games like cs go when the server is running?

It depends on your overall connection speed, relative to how many people are on your MC server.

I wouldn't personally do it unless you have 5 Mbps or faster upload or have a data cap but you can try it if you want.

It depends on your overall connection speed, relative to how many people are on your MC server.

speedtest from my phone shows 16 down and 7 up. And I think max would be like 9 people including myself.

speedtest from my phone shows 16 down and 7 up. And I think max would be like 9 people including myself.

Then go for it it'll only be a few 100 megabytes of data (guessing never used minecraft).
