I'm building a PC and wanted to know, does Intel Core i5-10400 2.9 GHz 6-Core Processor support 24 GB of RAM?

Yes, but if you need to upgrade form 16gb of ram I would take the leap directly to 32

That's a rather odd amount of RAM, but yes, it should. Obviously depends on your operating system and motherboard, not just the cpu. Any 64 bit Windows 10 pretty much supports more RAM than most casual users can throw at it. The CPU supports up to 128 Gb of RAM and the rest of it falls down to the motherboard you choose - how many RAM slots, what kind of memory speed, so forth.

 

Short answer is - yes, it does. If you need more than 16, then get 32 Gigs.

In terms of GB per dollar if you were to get an extra 8gb it would be worse than 16gb

Motherboard supports a maximum of 64 Gigs of RAM, 2933 Mhz, but only has 2 slots. Pretty much means you need to get 2x16Gb sticks of 2933Mhz ram.

 

Edit: Ubuntu still supports up to 128 Gigs in 64 bit version.
