Looking for new laptop.

I've been looking on different websites but there's just so many options and different models, it's a bit overwhelming. I also haven't been keeping up with "newer" hardware and have no idea whether I should go with intel or Ryzen and what the differences between those are. 

The laptop isn't for me, just trying to help someone find a replacement for her current laptop.

 

A few requirements are: 

- Screen size should be decent (15.6' - 17.3')

- A numpad

- At the very least a 256GB SSD

- More than 2 cores preferably

- GPU doesn't matter

- Somewhat decent battery life is always good

- Max budget of 1k euro 

 

I've been eyeing the acer aspire 7.

 

Any recommendations would be great.
