Old mac especially intel is gonna depress very hard, i would sell now and hope for the best, or shelf it for the memory.

when it come to macs the more "iconic" macs tend to gain value while the lesser known ones seem to just loose a ton of value.

A plain 2007 macbook really isn't going to be a very iconic model people are really looking for or able to recognize so I would honestly say it would take a VERY long time for it to go up in value , at least 20-25 years before it becomes noticeably retro and scarce.
