  1. 1. Which is the best price/performance? (already have a 1050ti from my previous pc and for my applications it is enough)

I currently have an I3 6100 with a Gigabyte Z170 HD3P CF mobo. My 1050ti is good enough for me. This pc would run my Minecraft server and I need a really responsive and quick is gaming pc. (I only play Minecraft and Rocket Leauge ....yes I know) I also would like to use my  current 500W PSU for the gaming pc and use an older loud one witch I already have for the I3 6100 build (server). I hope I didn t make a shitty mobo-cpu combo in the poll. PLS HELP ME IM A NOOBIE. Oh also, no need for tempered glass or any kind of transparent sidepanel , I only see the front xd. Pls ask if I forgot something. Thanks for reading

Well how much ram do you have for example?

Monitor your cpu usage whilst playing too. You have to give us more info AND links that work.

I'd say upgrading from a 2c/4t core in 2021 is totally reasonable if you have the budget.

well the newest parts should probably give you the most performance (hehehe except 11th gen....) but what about the rest of your system? do you have good enough cooling? is 500w enough for a gpu and a power guzzeling 11th gen i5? have you considered amd 3000-series?

alright! Imo going for an amd system makes more sense in that case as you can save yourself the admitedly fancy but expensive noctua cooler and just run the box cooler. Something like a asus prime B450-A with a ryzen 3 3100/3300 or ryzen 5 3600 (non X non XT!) should probably end up cheaper though your local prices might be very different to mine. Also try to go for more than 8gb ram or 1x8gb instad of 2x4 so you can upgrade better in the future

Well yeah... true. The cheapest prices where i live are:

Ryzen 5 3600  210$

I5 9600k           180$

I5 10600k         240$

I5 11600k         340$

asus prime B450-A 100$

so the 9600k is cheaper than the 3600  and  https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/AMD-Ryzen-5-3600-vs-Intel-Core-i5-9600K/4040vs4031 it is a tiny bit better

I jut realised that the 11600k is waaay more expensive than I thought

if the Noctua cooler is a bit expensive( witch is kinda true) than the  Scythe Mugen 5 Rev B is pretty good in my opinion for 60$

yeah but you also have too look at motherboard prices for amd vs intel. I'm not fully up to date on either prices so you have to do your own digging though. Either way I'd probably still take the amd to get those juicy threads but I do quite a bit of productive work and not just gaming...

What do you think about the Scythe Mugen 5 Rev B for a cooler at 60$?

Also thanks for giving me ideas and Tech Tips xd...

Only used Noctua so I have no clue but it's probably overkill for your application and it would be $60 you could spend on something else like PSU, RAM or a better cpu

I mean yeah it works but that motherboard is overkill and you still only have 2x4gb of ram. I'd aim for 2x8gb ram on some kind of x470 board as most of them have compatibility with 5000-series ryzen too so going for a b550 is not really neccessary even if you plan on upgrading.

Finally I'd invest all the saved money into a decent 80+ gold PSU (check the forum PSU-tier list!) and a decent case with good airflow and layout. If you don't already have one, investing in a modern ssd isn't a bad idea either

Thank you @frokes for all the help! I already have an 80+ platinum psu. The pcpartpicker link you sent me is probably what I will go with. The micro atx size or something is perfect. I always wanted a small pc but never had one, so this is the time! And I have an 180gb m.2 boot drive with a 1TB HDD so thats all good. Thanks again for the help!
