hi there,

So as in the title, can anybody suggest a solution, preferably free software, if possible.

i have 2 laptop, Laptop A as my main workspace and laptop B as backup or media / gaming device.
usually i install a lot of font in "A", so if possible i want new font that installed in "A" automatically sync to "B"
it doesn't have to be installed in "B" 's system font folder, at least backup to some folder in "B".

is it possible?

appreciated if can also guide me how to make it auto sync.

Thank you

I think your best bet would be git ( versioning software). You can upload your fonts from folder "A" to a repo in github "my-font-repo", then in folder "B" clone that repo. You can continue to add files to folder "A", upload it to github, then fetch/pull the changes into folder "B".

I think something like OneDrive or Google-Drive might also be inline with what you're looking for.

Edit*
FileZilla is also useful! Though I think you need to set up ssh and/or nfst which is the least user friendly out of all of these.

Hi there,

i'm not really a tech guy, there's a lot that i dont know about tech, like what is "ssh" or "nfst" and

don't know how github repo work, so i think i will use google drive as it is the simplest way to use.

Thank you so much and appreciated for the suggestion

Does copy-paste work even there? I thought you need to actually install fonts, But if the copy-paste way works, you could use Resilio Sync for Wifi syncing. Or FreeFileSync through USB connection (or via shared network locations).

yes, copy-paste works fine.

i'm okay with manually install font to "B", because i had problem with directly install font to system.

i had to install the font using coreldraw's bitstream font navigator in "B", but in A there is no problem at all if i install directly, and that's what baffle me.

the only different between A (Windows pro) and B (Windows home) is windows version, but i dont think that is the problem, maybe?

noted, i'll try the the software later

I use Syncthing

It is pretty easy to setup, I think. and you can sync as many folders as you want. you can do one way or sync both ways.
