Does anyone remember if this version of the M17R2 supported g sync. I ordered an M17R4 without G-sync and just saw an Nvidia demo about the difference it makes and have been wondering if I made a mistake getting the non g sync version because I thought my older one did not have it and I did not see any artifacts.

You should pretty much always get some form of adaptive sync/VRR on every display, laptop or external monitor. Dell honestly has no right selling a so-called gaming laptop that doesn't have adaptive sync.
