Gpu broken..?

Go to solution Solved by Chickensen,

About a month or two ago, when I first tried steaming, my pc started doing this weird thing where every once in a while (notably when I bump my desk), the gpu fans ramp up to max and my screens go into power saving mode. The only way to make it work again is to force restart it. After a while of it doing this I replaced the thermal paste on my gpu and reinstalled it, it fixed the issue for about a week, but now my pc does this more and more often, even without my desk being moved. Any advice??

Sounds like a faulty censor on the motherboard or the fans aren’t plugged in correctly. More information needed to make a clearer guess though.

What other information should I get? I’ll disassemble my gpu and make sure everything is plugged in properly.

Things like applications running when it happens and other censors on the motherboard that could be failing instead.

Applications in the background vary. It could be chrome, discord, or any game. It seems it’ll do it during almost anything. Im not sure what other sensor could be failing because when it happens, only the gpu acts up (that I know of). The other fans stay at the same level and I can even hear windows notifications in the back.
