Changing motherboard MSI B450M Mortar Max to ROG B450-F Gaming II does it need to format?

I have Msi B450M mortar max and the lan was broken so i need to buy this new ROG B450-f Gaming 2 does it need to format my OS with the same B450?

Shouldn't. Most drives don't need a format, but if it won't boot, then yes, you need to find a Windows repair drive and load your data off somewhere to reinstall.

No. At worst, the copy of Windows may need to be activated again, but usually changing the mobo alone isn't enough to trigger deactivation.

I changed my cpu and gpu and had no activation issues, as soon as I changed mobo it asked me to reactivate it.

Because that was three hardware changes in total. The mobo was the straw that broke the camel's back.
