I have one of these microphones with 2 wires:

And I have an auxiliary cable with 3:

How do I connect the mic to the cable?

ground wire to one lead , and other wire to..... either the red or white. One of them will work. They make 3.5mm plugs that are 2 wires for mics

Now that i think about it , a 2 wire 3.5mm jack would be mono , and mono is left. so the white wire and the ground wire would be it

Can you draw a diagram? I am confused.

So I keep the red wire isolated, right?

no you just cut it off. But you have to isolate all the wires same as any other cable splicing project.

Alright! If this returns true I'll mark your answer as the solution!

I connected them as is and it's just this awful sounding pitch. Any ideas?

did you actually isolate the wires or are they touching each other? are you sure your microphone is a 100% analog microphone?

I isolated them except for the ones that are supposed to be connected, and I don't know if it's analog or not

you would need to know that whatever you are connecting to actually goes to a microphone and not some sort of board or component that isn't a microphone

Well it looks like a regular microphone. You can try the red wire instead of the white to see if that fixes it.

But that being said the microphone you are trying to make , is the most simple of analog microphones ever and would cost only a few dollars to buy a new one , and or would most likely be free to find as this type of mic isn;t really used anymore and is on the cheapest of headsets.

Nope. Still trash. Are you able to find a mic for the MIC IN for my PC? One I don't have to splice and isn't TRRS or 4 pole?
