Headphone help

I use a JBL Live 650 BT set of headphones but I keep having this issue when I try to turn it on the power light turns on then off then back on randomly. With short intervals. online it said something about updating firmware but after repeated attempts only got them to firmly pair with my phone once and it didn't last long enough for me to even find out the option to update the firmware.

 

Any advice?

You can try using a older phone and see if it works then

it's an older phone. Plugging into an audio jack and using it works like normal headphones but switching it on still causes the off and on bullpucky. When it is working it sounds so much better and the noise canceling is nice.
