Upgrading GPU, going sli or not?

Hey, 

 

I'm planning to upgrade my GPU or going sli, so 660 SLI or 770? and why?

CPU: Intel Core i5 4690K  CPU: Cooler: Cooler Master Nepton 240M  GPU: 2x SAPPHIRE R9 290 4GB OC Vapor-X MB: MSI Z97 GAMING 5 RAM: 2x4GB GeIL Black Dragon PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G2 80+ Gold HDD: Western Digital Blue 1TB SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 120GB CASE: Phanteks Enthoo Luxe

Try find a cheap 660 second hand. That would be your best bet. Although do you have a decent PSU? Ideally you would need a decent brand 650w or higher (700W would be perfect).

Go 780 and don't be bothered with games not working in SLI

a solid single gpu upgrade would be like a 780, but sli 660 would be better price/performance

i would love to say wait for maxwell... but nvidia only released some info about pascal xD so we dont know how far away are we from getting 870 / 880

Agreed, I think this is the best reasoning
