Need help with redoing networking in my house

Hi all, I need some help with redoing my home network, specifically with the hardline part of it.  My house is not currently wired for ethernet, all I have are RJ11 and coax.  I have two coax jacks that are actually active and I currently have a Sparklight internet plan that works with what essentially appears to be two modems.  One is upstairs, one is downstairs, both Hitron units, both connected to coax.  The two modems have different MAC addresses...so I was wondering if it would be possible for me to use one modem upstairs and another downstairs on the same internet plan, or if I'm just going to have to suck it up and run some ethernet cables myself.  I would like to get rid of the equipment I have from Sparklight and install my own, mainly for the fact I can use my own, higher quality equipment, upgrade my internet plant to a faster one and still be saving money on my monthly bill for getting rid of their equipment.  Is there any way for me to be able to use two modems without having to pay for two separate internet plans, or is there another way that I can use coax to share an internet connection from the downstairs to the upstairs?

The adapters aren't necessarily cheap, per se, but they do work well (from experience). Make sure you get adapters with pass-through so you can still connect the modem to at least one of the jacks.

No. Usually, for residential internet, it’s one physical line per modem or gateway. Some ISPs might try to get you to rent “extension” devices, but they’re usually just glorified WiFi extenders.

An alternative to MoCA is the obvious: running ethernet between floors. You can run it within the same space that your coax or phone line, provided they can accommodate the girth of the cable’s insulation. If you don’t need the phone line anymore (who does, these days!?) and can find where it starts/ends, you can use that line as a guide wire to fish ethernet through. All you’d have to do is replace the wall plates to include ethernet keystones. The same can be said about the coax cable.
