Pc case thermal concept

Hi all new to the forum.

 

After seeing a post on Facebook of a pc build and someone out all their fans exhausting for show purpose. This lead to the the though of what if all fans where to exhaust and what should be the chassis side panel where replaced with a mesh.

 

do you think this could drastically increase thermals on a system and would it be a feasible idea ?

That would work fine. Dust would accumulate on that side panel, though.

The idea is feasible but the improvement in thermals would be negligible and could actually be worse, 2 decent intakes and 1 exhaust is probably the point of diminishing returns. Air flow and cooling beyond that is done by people who's main enjoyment of the hobby is achieving ever increasing levels of performance.

 

I would make one alteration change the fans to push air in to the case so you can filter them. then all the little gaps around the case become exhaust rather than intakes, this makes dust management easier.

Its better to have focused airflow imo. You want the air to scrub surfaces to get the heat off. This works better with many CFM's. I just put my kids computer together in a big R4 with 4 crappy Fractal 120s. Works fine, nice and quiet.. 2 in 2 out. And in my Meshify C I have 5x 120x38s and a 140 for 4 in 2 out lol. Its excessive.. but very effective

 

I will be taking two out today after I finish moving my data around.. I will be shedding some SSD's and HDD's for use in other machines.
