Linux has come a long way in gaming and it would be interesting. I'd be predicting it is going to shrink over time especially if Microsoft release it browser based steaming service to every browser and not just apple products. That raises another point why do you need linux games just run gamepass browser version and play any game you like with no issues.

With the size Microsoft game studio is growing towards. I think we are going to see a massive growth in games built only using there graphics api. Resulting in more exclusives to Microsoft platforms. Hardcore gamers are going to be hard pressed to justify paying per title as the game pass catalogue continues to grow.

As game pass gains customers the market place for anything else shrinks.

The console market is huge and any game developed for xbox will run on windows, how many PC games do not have a windows based gaming machine. What will generate more income a Linux port or a new title?

Sorry that's a bit disjointed but as I see it if Microsoft get there business model correct that could have as big a share of the gaming market as they do the OS market. but thats a good thing for linux gaming if they choose To support it the using the same method they will use for apple products.
