I hope you’re all fine with health in this kind of time with the CoVid-19.

So i wanted to ask something.

If, there’s a Monitor that does not support higher capacity than “displayport 1.2”.

Does it trouble anything if the cable is 1.4 or higher?

No, displayport cables are backwards compatible.

it's backwards compatible, meaning yes it'll work

and it'll run at DP1.2 speed

DP has all the same Pinout. A 1.4 cable is guaranteed to be able to run at 1.4 speeds, but can run on any dp port
