Ram running at wrong speed after cpu upgrade

I just updated from a Ryzen 5 1400 to a Ryzen 5 3600. My mother board is a "msi b350m bazooka" so I had to update the bios and while at it update drivers and now my ram which is 2x8 @ 2400mhz is now running at 1200mhz. I went in bios and changed the DRAM frequency to 2400mhz instead of auto. any ideas of troubleshooting steps

important note: the ram sticks are mismatched brands BUT they both run at same speed and same size

XMP is enabled and is on profile 2

Try setting the XMP profile.....

where do you read 1200MHz, because DDR stands for double data rate, do 1200MHz = 2400MT/s (or commonly referred to as 2400MHz)

and DDR4 dont clock as low as 1200MT/s, not that i know of, lowest i think is 1600/1866

task manager and cpuz (cpuz says 1199mhz but like close enough)

can i get a screenshot of CPU-z?

 

because CPU-Z shows true frequency iirc, so it should be 1200

CPU-z it's fine it tells the actual data rate  instead of the Double date rate which DDR is, but the task manager tells the DDR speed (which is 2400 MHz in your case)  as far as I know....

task manager can be quite random, sometimes it shows true freq, sometimes it shows MT/s

CPU-Z shows true freq, which is half of the advertised MHz on the RAM and XMP profile
